| What's your Economic Impact? | |
The Niagara Sport Commission will be partnering with Brock University's Sport Management program to provide local sport organizations with economic impact assessments of their events. As part of their course requirements, Sport Management majors will apply the Sport Tourism Economic Assessment Model (STEAM) on site at sporting events throughout Niagara to examine each event's impression on the local economy. Organizations that choose to take part will then receive an economic impact report that breaks down the monetary value of their event.
If you have a sporting event that falls between January 15th and April 1st of 2011 and want to see its financial benefits to the region, you are can participate in this offer. Click here to send us details as well as the date of your event. If you have events that fall after April 1st let us know so that we can add it to our events calendar!

| Welcome Niagara Accessible Sport Commission | |
The Niagara Region is pleased to announce the creation of the Niagara Accessible Sport Commission. This commission will be the place people with disabilities go to, to find accessible sport information in the region. With the hope to make people aware of all disabled sports in the region, the commission will also have a presence on the Niagara Sport Commission website and newsletter. They will also develop a resource that details all programs that currently exist in the Niagara Region and create a universal calendar on Google.
Long term, The Niagara Accessible Sport Commission hopes to promote and profile the commission at Legion B at Mohawk Sports Park in June 2011, and at the World Wheelchair Basketball Championship in July 2011, Para pan games in 2015. They will also tackle the huge issue of inter-regional transportation. The commission is happy to be receiving $2500 from Parasport Ontario; this money will help them to start advertising our existence.

| Gather some items for an Electronic Auction! | Welcome to the next chapter of The Niagara Sports Commission's commitment to helping our Niagara Region sporting community. Coming this January, we will be offering all sports organizations in the area an electronic auction platform to help your organization raise funds. This simple platform allows the 450,000 residents of Niagara to bid on the items that you've been able to garner for your auction.
What does this mean? It means a higher price paid for your auction item with that many people able to bid. What other advantages? Well, the item you are able to get donated can remain at the donator's place of business. Rather than having to go to all the businesses that contributed, collect all of the items and cart them down to a location where there will only be so many people in attendance to bid on them, the auction platform accepts the bids, takes the credit card transaction and then promptly sends the winning bidder their Winning Bidder ID. That person then simply prints off that email and brings it to the contributor's place of business to collect their winnings.
So, the only thing you need to do now is to garner the items for auction. A simple and easy way to capture fundraising dollars - with the help of The Niagara Sports Commission. Contact us at info@niagarasportcommission.com
